My name is Alessandra Martina Martines, a native speaker of Italian and a qualified technical translator in my three working languages: English, German and French.

After completing an internship at the Directorate General for Translation at the European Commission in Luxembourg, I worked  as an in-house technical translator, liaison interpreter and translation editor for over three years both in Italy and in the Netherlands until August 2014.

I am now based in York and I am enthusiastically dedicated to offer my translation services as a freelance translator.

By combining my language skills to my technical knowledge, I provide translations mainly in the technical, medical and marketing sectors and offer editing and proofreading services to support innovative technology solutions.

As well as the fields I specialise in, I do enjoy translating in my areas of interests. I am a photography and art lover and take great interest in exploring  areas, art galleries and museums I have never visited before.

I love baking and cooking books are my personal favourite.

Sports are also my passion. I played volleyball professionally and I am now a training as a long-distance runner.
